Zendrive School Safety Snapshot

Zendrive has produced traffic safety ratings for 75,000 schools in the country, including many but not all in San Juan USD.

The snapshot emphasizes cell phone use while driving, and the graphic for each school indicates the cell phone use level, but it also addresses  hard braking and fast acceleration. A quick graphic is produced for each school, such as the one at right for Mariemont Elementary School, which is a remarkable #2 out of 227 schools in California that were included.

Take a look at your school!

Zendrive says the schools not included will be in the future. Some schools in San Juan are in the snapshot, but don’t show up in the search. You can find them by specifying Sacramento County, and then scrolling around the map.

Zendrive says “our recent study revealed 88% of Americans use their phones while driving – definitely a contributor to the one in three drivers showing unsafe pickup or dropoff behavior in school zones. Since distracted driving is a major contributor to traffic deaths, it’s no wonder that last year’s spike in traffic deaths was the biggest in the last fifty years. As kids are increasingly getting to school on foot, bike, and bus, it’s on us to take responsibility for their safety when driving near schools.”
